Mission Connection - Tell A Friend

Vision Statement:
The purpose of the Family Center is to provide a loving home for abandoned children and to find all ways possible to prevent the separation of newborn babies from their natural families.

  Mission objectives:

  • Where possible, to prevent babies from being abandoned by intercepting the mothers of crisis pregnancies and providing them with opportunities and practical training that will enable them to keep and care for their babies. Providing assistance and a safe environment for these young mothers where they can get to know their savior and learn to love and provide for their children.

  • To provide a home for orphaned babies where they can receive love and care until they can be re-united with their natural mothers or other relatives wherever possible.

  • To provide a loving home for abandoned babies who have no other hope for a real family.

  Background:
The crisis of orphans and abandoned babies in Romania is no secret, the problem has persisted for quite a long time and their situation has touched all of our hearts. The slow economic recovery of this post communist country has left many families struggling to care for their children. Some of the poorest families and especially single teenage mothers, have no alternative than to give up their children to the state who are already struggling with the large numbers of orphans they have.

Recently, there has been a commendable effort on the part of the Romanian government to move orphaned children from the institutions back into loving family environments.

Marian and Mona Dogaru (left) are a Romanian couple that Mission Connection have been working with to do just that. They have been ministering to poor children and orphans in the Targoviste district for two years now and have it on their hearts to be the front line parents and servants for this wonderful ministry. They already have three orphan babies living with them now, as well as their own two children, in their tiny two-bedroom apartment. These people are true servants who have already proven that they will do this ministry whether anyone is helping them or not. They desperately need a bigger place to live, and faithful people who will stand with them in the gap for these and other abandoned children.
