Mission Connection - Church Planting

Relevant - Inspiring - Intimate - Authentic - Supernatural
These are keys to the new youth church planting movement in Romania.
Mission Connection Founder Paul Grimes, "Everywhere I have been lately, whether in America, Poland, Slovakia, or Romania, I am hearing a cry from the new generation of believers and young church leaders. Their cry is for a church that is relative to their generation. A place where they can bring their unsaved friends and neighbors and know that they will be accepted. A place where they can freely worship God, where they can come as they are. But most of all, a place where there can find intimacy with God without wading through church policy and traditions.

It is my firm conviction that we are about to see a major explosion of church planting all over the world! Most of the new church plants will be made up of a new generation of young people. Most will have no religious background and these churches will be designed to meet the needs of the modern man. Every aspect of these churches will be contemporary in nature.
The Gospel must be communicated with relevancy The gospel is always relevant to hurting people who need God in their lives. However, the vehicles we use to reach each new generation with the gospel of Jesus Christ must be different. Today's youth need solutions to their problems. The church must be culturally relevant. Youth need to understand that the Bible applies to their life. This is why Mission Connection desires to see hundreds of youth meeting centers established throughout Romania.
Why are we focusing our ministry on young people? The youth of Romania wander the streets. Some may be fortunate to still live with parents. Most are lost, hurting, and without hope or direction. Romania’s govenment has released countless youngsters from 12 to 18 from orphanages in response to the Europen Union’s dissatisfaction with the orphan situation in Romania. Where do these young people go? Some stay on the streets. Others are sold into trafficking. Many turn to drugs and prostitution.

The opportunity to reach these young people searching for answers is huge! Statistics tell us that 80% of Christians became Christians before they were 15 years old, 90% before they were 21 years old, and a full 97% of believers become believers before they turn 30 years old. Therefore we must utilize our resources and focus our energy on planting churches that effectively reach them.

Mission Connection adheres to the Indigenous Church Principle. This principle states that for the National Church to grow and prosper according to scripture, it must become self-supporting, self-governing, and self-propagating. Support begins with inception and diminishes as the church becomes well established.
